The Virginia Supreme Court has overturned the Democrats’ redistricting referendum in a 4-3 decision, stating that the Democrats did not follow the proper procedures.

The NAACP has filed an emergency petition to block Tennessee’s attempt to eliminate the state’s only majority-Black congressional district, arguing that it violates the state constitution. Kristin Clarke will be joining us to discuss the lawsuit.

In Alabama, chaos erupted in the State House as Republicans approved plans for new primary elections if courts allow GOP-drawn House districts to be used in the upcoming November midterm elections.
