Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s son-in-law, Toronto Police Staff Sergeant Ernest “Dave” Haynes, remains at the centre of an ongoing police disciplinary case. Haynes has faced allegations of misconduct, including discreditable conduct, breach of confidence and insubordination. The case includes allegations that policing-related and confidential information was shared outside the Toronto Police Service. Haynes has disputed the allegations, while his defence has argued that he faced retaliation after raising concerns within the police service. The disciplinary proceedings have brought renewed attention to accountability, confidentiality and internal workplace practices within the Toronto Police Service.

Toronto police officers are facing serious allegations following newly released court documents connected to Project South, a sweeping corruption investigation led by York Regional Police. According to court documents reported by CBC News, Toronto Police Sgt. Carl Grellette is accused of providing information from an ongoing police investigation to a civilian and advising her on how to install a GPS tracking device on a victim’s vehicle. Authorities allege the tracker was then used to repeatedly follow the victim, causing her to fear for her safety.

An Ontario family is speaking out after going more than two months without recycling pickup, leaving their garage overwhelmed with boxes, cans, and other recyclable materials. Despite repeated attempts to get the problem resolved, week after week passed without collection.
