292: How to Identify and Leverage the Hidden Assets in Your Business podcast
Just a heads up: This episode contains discussions of sexual assault, and some may find it upsetting. We encourage listeners to prepare themselves.
It all started on the island of Little Saint James, aka “Little Saint Jeff’s.” As Lisa’s modeling career began taking off, she was lured and trapped. Her experiences on the island forever changed her. Lisa couldn’t talk about it until now, 20 years later.
Today, Lisa welcomes trauma therapist Ocean Shapiro, MSW, to the podcast. They have a discussion on the power of telling your survivor story. Ocean shares how as a therapist, they help people through their process of being able to talk about their story as a way to help process their trauma. Why is storytelling powerful? Why even tell the story? Advice on how to feel safe in sharing your story with loved ones.
This episode is all about giving the audience insight into how therapy can be a safe space to process trauma and how to create healthy boundaries to feel safe to share your story publicly or with loved ones.
From now on think about your story as a part of the beautiful, inextricable web of human experiences that deserve to be spoken aloud.
