Let’s Talk About Burnout in Healthcare Workers with Steven and Nate

Steven an Anesthesiologist, host and creator of The Black Doctors Podcast.

Nate is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician, co-host and producer of the podcast.

This week they follow the theme from previous episodes which featured a fantastic panel of Black Psychiatrists and a discussion on Mental health in the Black Community and the extraordinary challenges faced by Black and URiM physicians.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, BURNOUT has extracted a significant toll on healthcare workers.

Over the next two weeks, the podcast will share a conversation between Nate and Steven. They talk about their experiences with burnout during the applications process, medical school, residency and even as attendings.

Over the next two weeks you will learn:

  • How to identify symptoms of burnout
  • How do you avoid being burnt out?
  • “No” is a complete sentence!!

We hope you enjoyt this conversation. If you would like to participate, visit our website and click on the “Pass the Mic” icon. Answer the question: How do you recognize and/or avoid burnout in your day-to-day life?
