Today’s interview is with Brandon Rule, entrepreneur, real estate developer, and much more. He is the founder of Rule Enterprises, which specializes in strategic investing using real estate development as their primary driver.

Brandon is passionate about creating wealth in communities of color and addressing the affordable housing crisis. His first real estate development didn’t end up being as profitable as he had hoped, however he kept going and to date has done $100 million in real estate development.

2) While it’s important to stay resilient in spite of the obstacles, it’s almost equally important to know when to give up. A mentor once told Brandon: “One of the best deals you’ll ever do is the one you didn’t.”

3) Real estate is a relationship business, especially commercial real estate. Always try to find a way to get into the same room with decision makers in your city, and engage in mutually beneficial conversations where you demonstrate the value you can offer them.
