Forensic Pathology, the Intersection of Law and Medicine

This episode features Dr. Nicole Jackson, a Forensic Pathologist practicing in Chicago. She shares her inspiring story about her pathway to becoming a physician. She sheds some light on some of the incredible things that Pathologists are doing in hospitals nationwide. 

Dr. Jackson started out with the goal of becoming a surgeon. Through several different circumstances, she is exposed to the field and switches specialties. Dr. Jackson shares some of the highlights of her residency experience. She also talks about how Forensic Pathologists work closely with the legal system, examining evidence and determining cause of death. 

We talk about how to best increase exposure of this field to pre-med and medical students. She shares the newly minted, Society of Black Pathologists as well as #PathTwitter.
