Yooo! After a two week hiatus, Kenny and Syd are back for another episode, along with a new guest. Joining us is Chelsea Nicole, author of Provision and Submission: Insight into a Black Cultural Conundrum, which takes a look at the infamous conceptualized belief regarding heterosexual monogamous couples: “Men are expected to provide, and women are expected to submit.” Interesting huh? All of the ladies agree the statement is both outdated and misogynist but the animosity surrounding the notion continues to further taint the Black dating pool. Throughout the discussion Chelsea share’s her inspiration for the book, misconceptions of the dynamic and why we should let go of trying to “out-toxic” potential romantic interests.
