podcast November 1, 2022

Background

Since the first Black Pride in 2005 the yearly celebrations have become a home for Black and Brown LGBTQ+ people from across the diaspora.

But what is home without family?

In this episode we attempt to answer some important questions:
What does it mean to be part of a loving family? What happens when you lose your family of origin or they won’t accept you for who you are? And what role does UKBP play in the creation of new ‘chosen’ families?

In our super hi-tech audio van we were able to carve out a quiet space amidst the festivities to get to the bottom of these questions.
