Now imagine someone wants to enter that world. Someone of a different race and gender, someone who wears different clothes and subscribes to a different belief system.

Arlan Hamilton, a 39-year old Venture Capitalist, founder and managing partner of Backstage capital and prolific podcaster, was homeless and on food stamps before she appeared on the doorstep of the world of Venture Capitalism, demanding to be let in.

But what if one day you were admitted to the world that had previously denied you admission? Would you take your well-earned-seat at the table, content to be “one of the boys” or would you you open the door for other people like you, who have also been underestimated by society?
