Is it possible to be a millionaire AND ethical? Let’s discuss this controversial topic! We are taught in today’s society that to enjoy money means to support capitalism, but we all need money to survive nevertheless. So where should we stand on this? At last year’s ROI Summit, Hello Seven’s Rachel Rodgers was joined by Sonya Rennee Taylor and Rachel Cargle to get to the bottom of this question. Together, they talk about changing your relationship with money, how to spend money guilt free, using wealth for good, and whether it is possible to be moral and rich.
Sonya Renee Taylor is a New York Times bestselling author, poet, speaker, and activist known for her body liberation and social justice work. She founded The Body Is Not an Apology (TBINAA), a digital media and education platform promoting radical self-love. Her acclaimed book of the same name, The Body Is Not an Apology, challenges societal norms around body image. In 2004, Sonya won the U.S. National Individual Poetry Slam. Rachel Cargle is a prominent social justice activist, author, and speaker known for her work at the intersection of race and feminism. She gained national attention in 2017 after a photo of her at the Women’s March went viral. She founded The Loveland Foundation in 2018, which provides free therapy to Black women and girls. Rachel is also the creator of The Great Unlearn, a self-paced learning platform that focuses on the teachings of BIPOC scholars. Her debut memoir, A Renaissance of Our Own, explores her journey and personal transformation.
