When we think about abusive relationships our minds often go straight to physical abuse, but the reality is, that is not always the case. Abuse in relationships comes in all different forms and often isn’t even recognized as abuse but instead seen as “normal.” We are joined by Author and domestic abuse survivor Nenia Corcoran to discuss recognizing the signs and red flags of abuse ahead of time, how to avoid it and what to do if you become a victim of mental and/or physical abuse in a relationship. Nenia shares her story of how she didn’t even realize she was in an abusive relationship for over a decade and what it took to finally realize it and get out. Nenia has since started writing young adult fiction novels to help her work through her past. Although her novels are fiction, she draws a lot from her own experiences and by doing so hopes it will help young people avoid going through what she did. Also, this is the last episode of season 2! Thank you to all our listeners and supporters and we can’t wait to continue to bring you more new and amazing guests in season 3. We are kicking it off with a BANG! We are bringing you a special guest from a very popular Netflix show for episode 1… think you can guess who it is?
