YouTuber & Salon Owner Gone After Trying to Calm Her Boyfriend Down in a Standoff

Rickia Crawford’s family is still in shock after what happened on Monday, but they say seeing everyone share their memories of her is helping them get through. Police were called to the Crossings at Minshall Park apartments near 81st and Sheridan on Monday after reports of a naked man with an AR-15 firing shots in the area. That man, now identified as Dwayne Jackson, is suspected to have been having a mental breakdown. Unfortunately, the scene escalated. Jackson shot Rickia in the chest before being shot by police himself. She was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later. The family says they’re not sure what may have caused Jackson to snap but their main focus now is taking care of Rickia’s daughter. The family says they have been in contact with Jackson’s family, and share pictures of the couple. They say there is no animosity between the families, as they truly believe this was a mental health crisis.
