Jenn and Daren open season 4 of That Black Couple exploring what the political futures of Black folx looks like.

In the first segment, Jenn and Daren share their feelings about recent political developments like the “Red Wave” that wasn’t and the historic and embarrassing vote for the Speaker of the House.

In the second segment, they discuss the importance of the youth vote, abortion protection, and weed legalization in predicting where we are heading politically. They also talk through notable Black and queer candidate wins and set expectations around just how much progress their wins represent.

In the third segment, Jenn and Daren explain why young voters are leading the charge for change, how the Movement for Black Lives influenced that change, and how Black culture making has always been a force for revolution.

Podcast Summary:
This is an accidentally funny podcast about the realities of Blackness and adult life. We do “adult” differently. We are That Black Couple.
Our goal is to create a space for Black millennials to discuss and embody adult life on their own terms. We aren’t beholden to “traditional” gender or parenting roles, queerness is fluid and present in the ways we show up in our relationships and in the world, and we want to build community with other 30-something Black folx who are trying to figure this ish out.
