FOLLOW ALONG AS WE COVER:

(2:39) – As the current election season heats up, Mississippi is turning into an unexpected political battleground.

The solidly conservative state has recently seen changes to several racist or biased laws and policies. One of those rules required candidates for governor or other statewide offices to not only win a majority of votes overall but also to win a majority of the state’s voting districts.

(6:37) – Marion “Suge” Knight, the former Death Row Records mogul who is currently serving time in prison, is set to launch his new podcast from behind bars today.

(10:19) – 60 Second Headlines

STORY 1: A new survey published by The Society of Family Planning finds that the total number of abortions provided in the U.S. rose slightly in the 12 months after states began implementing bans on them throughout pregnancy.

STORY 2: The supergroup TGT is back! Singers Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank happily recently announced that the group is reuniting.

STORY 3: California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law a bill that requires the teaching of cursive writing across the state for grades ONE through SIX.

Brittney Griner will head up USA Basketball Women’s National Team roster for exhibition games.

Brandy is set to drop her first holiday album, “Christmas with Brandy” on November 10 via Motown Records.

(24:39) – 41 STATES AND WASHINGTON DC ARE SUING FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM’S PARENT COMPANY, META, FOR ALLEGEDLY HARMING OUR NATION’S YOUTH.

They say that Mark Zuckerberg’s META made sure to design the two social media platforms so that they are super hard to quit.

(28:45) – Every year there’s a debate of which candy is considered the best candy to be handed out for Halloween.

Some people base it on how healthy the candy is for you – chocolate or sweets, or does it cause your kid to have a sugar rush right before bedtime? Black America Web came out with a list of the 25 best candies to hand out for Halloween. We’re gonna have a turbo discussion with the team. Eat it or trash it?!

(34:20) – Big Up to The Milwaukee Bucks

For not giving a hot damn about the national anthem! How do I know? Because they booked Flava Flav to perform it before a game! YEAH BOY!!!! He wore a No. 59 jersey, referring to the year he was born, while decked out in his signature look of a chain with a clock pendant, sideways white hat, and glasses. It was a nearly three-minute performance.

The Let Down goes to – SAFAREE

For forgetting the internet keeps receipts! As everyone gears up for Halloween, Safaree took to the internet to share his thoughts on the holiday saying: “Yall have fun celebrating that demonic holiday called Halloween. Skulls, death, & blood. Nah, I’m good.” Only for the internet to quickly resurface photos of him in several Halloween costumes in years prior and old tweets that include him saying “Happy Halloween, if anyone cares.”
