Marlye Monfiston is an advisor, a trained lawyer and an entrepreneur. She currently works as a Senior Policy & Program Advisor in the French-Language Teaching, Learning and Achievement Division of the Ministry of Education (FLTLAD) and she contributes her experience and expertise to the education sector.
In this role, Marlye participates in the research and development of strategies, policies and program frameworks to address specific or systemic issues and needs of the Francophone community. Marlye is also one of the leaders of FLTLAD’s antiracism strategy developed in the past year and the lead facilitator of its antiracism committee.
Marlye earned her Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) from the Université de Montréal in 1993 and is a member of the Barreau du Québec.
In 2020, she was awarded a Distinguished Toastmaster certification (DTM), the highest distinction awarded by Toastmasters International (TI) and in 2022, she was recognized as one of 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women .
