All Aboard The Hot Mess Express: Love During Lock Up Premiere Recap podcast
Fred Hampton was a socialist revolutionary who led the Illinois chapter of the Black Panthers which painted a big target on his back by the the FBI. This film gives us a general idea of who Fred Hampton was from the perspective of William O’Neal who was an FBI informant sent to infiltrate the Black Panthers.
To the films credit, they don’t paint William in any positive light which further makes the movie work overall in showing the tragedy that happens. More than anything else, the film will make you very curious in wanting to further research on Fred Hampton especially with what he was doing prior to O’Neal joining the fold.
