EPISODE SUMMARY

In this episode of Black Businesses Matter, I had the opportunity to speak with Twyler Jenkins, CEO and Founder of the I Am That Woman Movement Retreat. The annual  I Am That Woman Retreat is an extraordinary experience that takes women through a powerful journey of learning and self-discovery. This process provides women with tools and resources to refine their next phase of life on their terms to live in their destiny. Twyler was inspired to launch the I Am That Woman retreat following an insightful moderated conversation at her birthday with a group of 43 close friends and family members, centered around the topics of womanhood, health and wellness, relationships, and spiritual well-being. This experience inspired Twyler to establish the I Am That Woman movement with the guidance and support of her network.

Twyler has over 30 years of experience as a professional meeting and corporate event planner, which she states is the 6th most stressful job behind paramedics. After 15  years of dealing with the stresses of meeting planning, she felt it was time to pivot to improve her mental and emotional well-being.  Twyler emphasizes the importance of consistency, frequency, and intention when improving your mental and emotional health. This led her to transition the Retreat to a Movement to ensure her audience has multiple touchpoints and consistent, ongoing interactions while on their wellness journey.

If you want to learn more about the I Am That Woman Movement and how to improve your mental and emotional well-being, this is the episode for you.
