In this episode, you can expect to hear: -Importance of vitamin manufacturers. -The gut’s importance in health. -Making my own vitamins. -Beauty supplements and expansion. -Prioritizing self-care and boundaries. -The future of wellness.
Find out more about Ashley Ashley spent years struggling with chronic fatigue, skin breakouts and digestive problems until she was diagnosed with PCOS and a Vitamin D deficiency. She tried dozens of multivitamins, but they were either too expensive or they just didn’t work. So she spent the next decade conducting research, testing different ingredients, and creating my own supplements.
During this process, she learned that melanin impacts how we absorb certain nutrients, especially Vitamin D. It is estimated that 80% of us are Vitamin D deficient, which can increase our risk of health issues. Other multivitamins are not formulated for melanated people and do not include the levels of vitamins and nutrients that our bodies need.
This is what inspired her to create Mela Vitamins and the first multivitamin for melanated women.
Taking your vitamins is self-care.
