Who are you? Really?
How you see and value yourself determines how you show up for every single thing in your life.
As creative beings, if we don’t know who we are, we’ll create art simply for approval, for likes, to be “trendy”, or to be accepted.
We’ll continue to fold ourselves unnaturally into corners and pockets to simply belong.
We will suffocate ourselves underneath the unnecessary pressure to be accepted, validated and celebrated.
We will lose sight of our message, our art and ourselves.
We’ll be too busy trying to be someone else that we forsake ourselves and those who need our unique voices and our art.
So often we attach our identity to the ever changing opinions of other people, society and worst of all, our own judgments.
And we wonder why we feel insecure, “not enough”, “too much”, prideful…
It’s important to know who and whose we are so we are not chasing approval with every life decision we make, and so we’re not attaching our self worth to what we create, how wealthy we are, what credentials we have, how “successful” we are…etc.
Without the truth of who we are, we feel lost.
We don’t feel safe.
We don’t feel grounded.
We don’t feel like we can really rest.
We feel like we have to earn our worth, rest and love.
Knowing who we are unattached to titles, credentials, accomplishments, affiliations (all that extra stuff), is the foundation for a healthy perspective of ourselves and a healthy relationship with ourselves and our art.
Do you know who you really are?
It’s okay if you don’t.
No matter how far you have walked away from yourself, you can always come back home to yourself.
