Gam and Mz Gogetta talks with April in Chappell Hill, North Carolina this evening about her grandparents, son and her boyfriend who was 15 years older than her.
April Barber was sentenced to two life terms for killing her grandparents. The night of Sept. 4, 1991, Barber and her boyfriend poured gasoline in her grandparents' house and set fire to it.
Aaron Barber died in the blaze and his wife Lillie died days later from her injuries in the fire. CL (April son's father)also went to prison for the murders. He later died after only serving 8 years in prison. April told Gam and Mz Gogetta that she only wanted to scare her grandparents.
April served 30 years after receiving clemency from North Carolina Governor Cooper. #prison #womenbehindbars #podcast #prisonreform #juvenilejustice #explorepage
