At the age of 15 years old Adaja Cooper became interested in art. While attending Governors school her high school art teacher dropped in one day and was impressed by her work and encouraged her to take his class. Now at the age of 21, Adaja life consists of being a full time college student and full time artist. Heavily motivated by the black culture Adaja grasped the attention of many during challenges time. She was given the opportunity to join the 7th Street Mural Community when the world was in an uproar. Adaja wanted to use her artistry to bring everyone together and empower. She painted a mural titled "Ain't I A Woman" and it was defaced twice. Defacing Adaja's art only made her bigger and stronger! Today, Adaja spends her time doing commissions and finishing her college degree. She has grown tremendously as an artist gaining the attention of Erykah Badu and many more. Listen as Adaja shares her story and thanks her village for making her the strong black woman she is today.
