“So many people are suffering in silence.” -Shanika
In this episode, I am joined by Shanika, founder of Labor and Love. Shanika Valcour-LeDuff is a Family Nurse Practitioner who focuses on Women’s Primary Care and Maternal-Child Health. She has worked in women and children’s health for over 15 years, with over a decade of experience in OB services.
Shanika founded Labor and Love after experiencing her own hardships during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Through this organization, families receive support during the prenatal period through infancy including childbirth education, doula services, postpartum support, and mother-baby health services.
Shanika is passionate about the health, wellness, and well-being of all mothers, children, and families. She puts a lot of labor and love into all her work. The mission of Labor and Love is to educate, advocate, and empower women, using their motherhood journeys as a source of this empowerment.
Shanika strives to provide the highest quality of care to all of her patients and clients as well as equipping them to be active healthcare participants. She believes that strengthening the health and wellness of the woman, the entire family, and the health and wellness of the community can be positively impacted. Her life’s work focuses on educating and empowering patients while being a strong health advocate for them.
