Special counsel Jack Smith has informed Trump he's a target of the investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election

NBC News has confirmed that special counsel Jack Smith has informed Donald Trump that he is a target of the special counsel’s investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Being named a target almost certainly means that Trump will face arrest and his third indictment this year. Meanwhile, on Tuesday in Michigan, the 16 fake electors Trump allegedly tried to use to claim he had actually won that state were indicted for their participation. This comes as lawyers for the former president and the special counsel were battling it out in a Florida courtroom, in front of Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon, over whether Trump could postpone the trial in the classified documents case until after the 2024 election.
