As believers, we must not make the mistake of thinking that we have to do something, first, before God can do something for us. Because of the finished works of Jesus Christ, everything we need has already been done. Our healing, deliverance, success, prosperity, peace, and joy are waiting for us to receive them by faith. If we fail to realize this, it is because we have not yet renewed our minds. This is an important point; even after being born again, we will need to continually renew our minds for the rest of our lives. Real change comes from learning to think differently from the world, and from religion; bringing our thoughts into compliance with God’s Word causes us to grow and mature spiritually. This type of renewal takes courage and commitment, but is well worth any sacrifices we must make to reach the destination God has in mind for us.
