After being closed for months during the pandemic the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History has reopened. Some of it’s newest acquisitions include George Washington’s tea chest from China and the blue gown from ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. They are among several objects on display that tell the ever changing Asian American story and struggle in the US. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have played key roles in shaping America’s past in work, culture, politics and entertainment. Recently Angie joined a group of scholars, advocates and curators for a special night of sharing stories and amazing artifacts that can now be seen at the American History Museum. This week’s show is an excerpt from the Smithsonian program.
