Well, Karina and Ekaterina have one crucial thing in common – that is their stateless status. Karina has a birth certificate with Odesa as the birthplace, a port once under the USSR. Ekaterina immigrated to the U.S. on a Soviet password. This interview was undoubtedly a teaching moment, and I’m in awe of Karina and Ekaterina’s bravery.
