161: The Journey Behind the Business with Kai Petty

In this episode, I am talking to Designer Kai Petty who was inspired by her own family history and memories to launch Fifth & Welshire®– a tribute to her mother and grandfather, who taught Kai how to create bespoke pieces for each of her special life events, including her own wedding. The gift of being able to design and wear pieces that allowed her to embrace her own identity and personal style is a gift that Kai never took for granted. With generations of inherited family lessons in her arsenal, Kai created Fifth & Welshire® to share this gift with other women. Kai was born and raised in Prince George’s County Maryland and is a wife and mom of two. When not designing the next collection, you will find Kai deep into a documentary, binge-watching Court Cam and the First 48, or visiting art museums.
