The Life Of A Trans Woman Living In Nigeria Fola Francis

LGBTQI rights are limited in Nigeria and in 2014 former president Goodluck Jonathan signed a bill into Law that Criminalizes same sex relationships and LGBT advocacy with a maximum penalty of 14 years imprisonment. According to NGO – Human Dignity Trust, there’s substantial evidence of the law being enforced in recent years with number of the LGBT community frequently subject to arrest and violence. 

Fola Francis is a young trans woman living in Nigeria, who is open about her journey and she’s joining me on this episode to talk about all of it!
