EPISODE SUMMARY

In this episode of Black Businesses Matter, we sit down with Renee Hastings, President and CEO of Executive Help Now, a virtual assistance service agency. Renee shares her fascinating journey, beginning with her childhood in an Amish community where her family was the only Black household. Growing up in this unique environment instilled in her a strong sense of integrity and the drive to surpass expectations. Frequent travel during her youth broadened her perspective, exposing her to diverse cultures and sparking a passion for business.

Renee's entrepreneurial spirit was ignited during a summer job organizing books for a Black-owned business, where she witnessed the possibilities of Black business ownership. This early experience laid the foundation for her entrepreneurial journey, which began in 1996. Despite challenges, Renee earned a degree in Business Management, became a Dale Carnegie Leadership Training Coach, and appeared on NBC’s KCRA News 3, where she discussed the impact of the pandemic on business owners and the importance of virtual assistance.

Renee emphasizes the power of delegation in entrepreneurship, recounting the pivotal moment she decided to hire her first virtual assistant and the faith it required. Now, with over 15 years of administrative and business experience, Renee leads a team that empowers busy executives to reclaim their time.

If you’re an entrepreneur looking to achieve better work-life balance, gain more free time, and grow your business, this episode is for you!
