Week 19 – Bill Belichick podcast
While completing his undergraduate studies at California State University at San Francisco, Owen Modeste began working in television and film. He’s worked on movie sets with HBO; pilots for the Food Network; and as the weekend Sports Producer for CBS affiliate, KPIX. He currently produces educational programming at Stanford University’s School of Engineering where he is both Studio Operations Manager and Senior Creative Producer.
In 2019 he completed his Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and Management at the University of Miami, hoping to one day develop a foundation for young collegiate and high school athletes, giving them the guidance and support they need to be successful not only in sports but in society. Owen has a passion for mentoring and assisting inner-city city youth who are plagued by systemic racism and poverty. When he’s not working, he enjoys listening to reggae and soca music, road cycling, playing soccer, hiking, martial arts, traveling, and devoting time to his church’s Audio and Video department, where he has been a member for over 24 years.
Owen grew up on the island of Trinidad and Tobago before emigrating to the United States. He played professional cricket at the age of eighteen while working for one of the largest steel manufacturers in the world.
