Ep. 208: “It’s Not Penix?” podcast
On this week’s episode of The R&B Money Podcast, Tank and J Valentine welcome the incomparable Stokley. They celebrate the renowned Sanger, Songwriter, and Multi-Instrumentalist. We will delve into Stokley’s upbringing in St. Paul, Minnesota, his education at Central High School, and his straying away from the pack by forming his Band Mint Condition. Stokley’s love for music began at a young age, and he eventually became a master of the drums after finding his father’s congas. His parents who were both educators embraced his musical ability and before long they signed with the incomparable Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who gave them full reign of the creation of their first album. “Pretty Brown Eyes” one of the most instrumental R&B Jams of all time, was actually on their demo tape. Listen and Enjoy! Stokley on The R&B Money Podcast
