EPISODE SUMMARY
In this very special 100th episode of the Black Businesses Matter podcast, we speak with two inspiring entrepreneurs, Qiana Allen and Taylor Mason, founders and CEOs of Culture’s Closet and Taylor’s Tacos, respectively.
Qiana Allen, a Chicago native and seasoned entrepreneur, is deeply passionate about fashion and dedicated to empowering curvy women to embrace their beauty. She launched Culture’s Closet in 2009 as a plus-sized buyer and, five years later, opened a brick-and-mortar location. During our conversation, Qiana shared the transformative journey of Culture’s Closet, the lessons she learned along the way, and what lies ahead in her entrepreneurial path.
Taylor Mason brings her unique story to the table, detailing the evolution of Taylor’s Tacos. Influenced by her family’s entrepreneurial spirit and her love for bringing people together, Taylor started her business as a catering service. Over time, Taylor’s Tacos grew into a thriving brick-and-mortar taco shop, selling over half a million tacos to date. With her wife Maya Mason’s partnership, the business expanded to include fresh high-quality ingredients, creating a distinctive and memorable taco experience.
If you are interested in hearing the unique journeys your business can take, this is the episode season and podcast for you.
