With just 12 hours to go until DHS funding runs out, lawmakers aren’t even in town to negotiate. A partial government shutdown is now imminent, which would be the third of President Trump’s second term. This time it is over the issue of mass agents, judicial warrants and other rules of engagement. Democrats are demanding major changes on immigration enforcement affecting two DHS agencies and want more than a White House promise to rein in agents.
