In this episode of S2EP7, I'm talking with Jessica Wilson about her new book, It's Always Been Ours (Hachette, February 2023),. Jessica is a DIETITIAN. AUTHOR. COMMUNITY ORGANIZER, who is passionate about rewriting the stories about black women's bodies.

About Jessica

As a registered dietitian specializing in eating disorders, Jessica Wilson believes that health is a social construct, a set of rules created that govern how to have the "right" body. The contemporary definition of a "good" or "healthy" body has been centuries in the making, but as Jessica Wilson writes in her forthcoming book, It's Always Been Ours (Hachette, February 2023), "the pure, moral, rule-abiding body has never, ever, been a Black woman's."
