About the guest

Rosy Sunshine Galvan is a Dominican-American artist from the pre-gentrified, Lower East Side of Manhattan, residing in Baltimore. Her art is a strange and awkward, yet beautiful meeting of graffiti, folk art, Caribbean vibes, direct conversations and healing. Rosy is a big fan of artist Yayoi Kusama.

In the series, Ancestral Vessels of Feminist Resistance, Rosy Sunshine creates vibrant paintings of survival. Her color-filled goddesses explore the power to reclaim the physical realm and thrive after acts of violence and explores using color vibrations, patterns, and tactile paintings to heal trauma and anxiety.
