Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of a man who is charged with murder. Officials say Kenardo Bates, 31, has been charged with murder, kidnapping, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Bates is accused of murdering 29-year-old Jaylan Hasty. Columbia-Richland Fire Department was called for a water leak alarm at an apartment in the 1300 block of North Brickyard Road, in the apartment, they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Investigators recovered a gun from the man. Source: ABC13
