Give thanks for the WHOLE life, for your problems, too, for the cross you’re carrying- not for the purpose of changing the cross, but to change your Heart, Saying, ‘Thank you, God’ until you feel It. Feeling the ‘Thanks’ while the problem is appearing. Being the ‘Thanks’ calms you, and a calm ‘you’ not only receives everything, but is Everything. “Every Miracle begins with a problem.”- John Maxwell I love you, Nik nikki@curlynikki.com Please help me keep the show ad free + Get Merch! ▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmornings “Plan your life, but God has a better plan for you.” -Rumi “About twenty years ago I read a Christian book entitled ‘Thank You God’. Its basic thesis was that one should continuously thank God for the way things are right now, not petition Him for things to be different. That means thanking Him for all the terrible things that are going on in your life, not just thanking Him for the good stuff that is coming your way. And this should not just be at the verbal level. One needs to keep saying ‘Thank you, God, to oneself until one actually feels a glow of gratitude. When this happens, there are remarkable and unexpected consequences. Let me give you an example. There was a woman featured in this book whose husband was an alcoholic. She had organized prayer meetings at her local church in which everyone had prayed to God, asking Him to stop this man from drinking. Nothing happened. Then this woman heard about ‘Thank you, God’. She thought, ‘Well, nothing else has worked. Let me try this.’ She started saying, ‘Thank you God for making my husband an alcoholic, and she kept on saying it until she actually began to feel gratitude inside. Shortly afterwards, her husband stopped drinking of his own accord and never touched alcohol again. This is surrender. It’s not saying, ‘Excuse me God, but I know better than You, so would You please make this happen, it’s acknowledging, ‘The world is the way You want it to be, and I thank You for it’.” -David Godman “The purpose of prayer is not to change God’s mind, but to change our hearts.” -Fr. Going in is not really going in. It is simply stopping going out. And suddenly you find yourself in” -Osho “For the one great means to become perfect is to walk in the Presnce of God. He himself said, “Walk in my presence and be ye perfect.” It is by prayer alone that we are brought into His presence and maintained in it without interruption. You must then learn a species of prayer which may be exercised at all times. This prayer is not mental but of the heart. It is not a prayer of thought alone, because the mind of man is so limited that while it is occupied with one thing it cannot be thinking of another. But it is the PRAYER OF THE HEART, which cannot be interrupted by the occupations of the mind. Nothing can interrupt the prayer of the heart but unruly affections; and when once we have tasted of the love of God, it is impossible to find our delight in anything but Himself.” -Excerpt from: “A Short Method of Prayer” by Madame Jeanne- Marie
