Ain’t Nobody F*cking With My Clique (And That’s the Problem) podcast
CBS Evening News, 01/19/26 podcast
This episode is 1 of 3 episodes for One of Hampton Roads Influential People.
@Katrinia Freeman who organized Keep Va Warm- this organization gives out hats, gloves, coats, food and ect. as well as help facilitate them with housing. Although it has been one year this month the amount of people that they have helped along the way is great. Katrinia a mother of three young men seems to balance everything that she has going on with such grace. Some of them have shared with her as to why they are homeless and it tugs at your heart strings. No matter why a person is homeless EVERYONE deserves to be treated with RESPECT and not spit at or have objects thrown at them. She loves what she does and in the years to come she wants to own her own homeless shelter to service people throughout Hampton Roads. While in Norfolk the homeless people were staying in the parking lot of Greyhound Bus Station when the city wanted them to leave but at the same time no resolution was offered to help them. At this time Katrinia and a few of the volunteers were prepared to stay outside and risk being arrested for failure to leave the premises. Because of this act the city decided to get involved and purchase a hotel to house over 100 of homeless people. The organization doesn’t want monetary help but rather you provide items such as toiletries, clothing, food and etc. This episode had US as the cast felt like we aren’t doing enough to help our community. Jan. 17, 2022 this organization will be giving out items to those in need. If you would like to donate please inbox their page Keepvawarm
