I don’t give a shit how you write songs. ⁣
⁣
It’s your art, do what you want. ⁣
⁣
But when you hit me up talking about:⁣
⁣
“How do I get more streams?”⁣
⁣
“Why isn’t my social media growing?”⁣
⁣
“How can I do my music full-time?”⁣
⁣
I’m going to give you the advice that I know works to accomplish these things. ⁣
⁣
Because I’ve done it before and/or I’m doing it right now. ⁣
⁣
If you don’t want to make a living from your music, don’t listen. ⁣
⁣
Keep doing what you’re doing with your 57 second intros. ⁣
⁣
Use those 1988 cover arts. ⁣
⁣
Keep handing out CDs in parking lots. ⁣
⁣
If you want to make money from your music, you gotta understand the business. ⁣
⁣
Which is what I teach here. ⁣
⁣
There’s a very distinct line of demarcation between artistry and business. ⁣
⁣
They co-exist, but they don’t mesh well on the surface. ⁣
⁣
You have to find a commonality between the two that works for you. ⁣
⁣
And that allows you to be free with your art. ⁣
⁣
While building a business that also fulfills your creatively and consistently lines your pockets. ⁣
⁣
I don’t know about your life, but money is extremely important in mine. ⁣
⁣
Without money, none of this exists. ⁣
⁣
And I wouldn’t be impacting you on a daily basis. ⁣
⁣
Everything we talk about here is going to come back to making you more money somehow. ⁣
⁣
If you want to grow musically and financially, keep watching. ⁣
⁣
If not, leave. ⁣
⁣
Stop complaining while the rest of us are trying to learn. ⁣
⁣
