Happy Almost Juneteenth!!!  I am so excited about Juneteenth and the Hand Me My Purse Gratitude Challenge starting TODAY! Today being June 15th. 

In this episode, friends & kin we are going to hit on a few things. 

ONE:  JUNETEENTH IS UPON US. And that’s exciting. Or is it?  Are black people still excited about JUNETEENTH now that it’s a FEDERAL holiday? I know personally, I am very annoyed at the bastardization of the holiday our ancestors created to celebrate their emancipation from being enslaved.

TWO:  I want to take a brief look at the magic that is BLACK JOY. The shit is pure magic. There is a title of a poem that reads, “joy is an act of resistance”. I would add onto that, BLACK JOY IS AN INTENTIONAL RADICAL ACT OF RESISTANCE. For all of the sadness, anger, rage, disappointment, violence, and downright evil we encounter and live through daily… We still find ways to feel and share our joy.  And that my friends is FUCKING PHENOMENAL to me. It says so much about our bones. 

THREE:  It’s time for the HAND ME MY PURSE GRATITUDE CHALLENGE. That is a major win for anyone who participates. It's next level intentional living. I can promise you that your entire life will experience a SHIFT as a result of doing this challenge. Y'all stay doing those ridiculous Tik Tok dance challenges – join in on a challenge that can change your mindset!
