Despite cultural and familial pressures, the Shelly eventually realized the importance of love and support. Naomi faced significant challenges, including homelessness and sexual assault, due to their gender identity. During this time Shelly had put her out of the home and she was only 16 years old. Shelly informed the Gam and Mz. Gogetta that she hated her son and often abused him as she didn't understand how God can allow this to happen to her. Shelly expresses regret for her past actions and emphasizes the need for understanding and compassion towards transgender individuals.
