Growing up in Mississippi around my grandmother, it was kinda difficult at times to differentiate “Christianity” from what I’ve come to know as “Hoodoo.” She used the Bible as a scrying tool that revealed premonitions to her and much of her language mixed Christian themes and what felt like descriptions of astral travel in her dreams.
For centuries, The Bible has served as an important grimoire for rootworkers and Hoodoo practitioners, a materia mágica of sorts. I talk more about this Occult 101 info further in the show.
I review the importance of Psalms, specific situations in which you may want to recite them, and I read several of my favorites (of course, I channeled my inner Black Southern Preacher for this one!)
In addition, I talk about “Black is King” by Beyonce and give y’all a Mars in Aries collective reading (btw, this will last until January 6, 2021).
