L Morgan Lee Makes Tony History in A Strange Loop

Imara is joined by L Morgan Lee, the first openly trans person to be nominated for a Tony Award. In their conversation, L Morgan reflects on how her groundbreaking role in A Strange Loop allowed her to more fully explore her own womanhood. She and Imara discuss the nuances of gender dysphoria, L Morgan’s path to acting, and her experiences of storytelling as a process of self-discovery. In an emotional conclusion, L Morgan opens up about what it’s like to have her childhood fantasy of sitting front row at an awards show come true.
