Imagine being a judge and when warranted, it was your job to give people life sentences in prison. Can you picture what it must be like, regardless of your opinion, to have to change people’s lives for the worse every single day?

Los Angeles Superior Court judge Craig J Mitchell, had been serving in the felony courts for years before he got an idea during one of his early morning runs, an idea that he might be able do something about the overwhelming destitution that he witnessed each day.

What would you do if you had an opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of millions of people suffering from homelessness and addiction? Would you start skid rows first-ever running club and train the club members to run in marathons around the world? Or would you leave the work to the missions and big charities, figuring that they are probably better equipped than you, to change peoples lives for the better?
