This week we get into Beyoncé’s latest album, Renaissance. After hearing some of the critique, we ask ourselves, “Is Beyoncé still that girl?” While we enjoyed the album, for some of us, it took more than one listen for us to get there, which usually isn’t the norm. Now when we did get into the right vibe to listen, the cadence, layers of music and instruments, and the lyrics had us feeling like THAT GIRL 💅🏾.
As we dissect the album, we also look at the use of the word “spaz” in the song Heated, as many people expressed their outrage saying that the word is offensive to those who suffer from cerebral palsy. Should Beyoncé have known better, or is it simply a lack of understanding of black vernacular by those “across the pond?”
We also discuss Kevin Gate’s recent comments about allowing Beyoncé to pee on him and some of his fantasies with Bey. At what point should we refrain ourselves from saying certain things that may be disrespectful to another person’s spouse? Or is this what comes with being a celebrity? Or simply put, has Kevin Gates officially lost his mind? 😭
For our “Ask Wolf” segment, we pose the question of how much he values his girlfriend’s opinion about his friends and their friendships. Is it true that men have an emotional attraction to their male friends, while they usually only have a physical attraction to women? Wolf helps us get to an understanding of this, because some of us were definitely confused at first. Honesties, let us know if you agree or disagree with this claim in the comments below.
