S2, Ep. 8:  In our pursuit of happiness, we're touching on truths that you can use to get, maintain and heighten your awareness of your own happiness.  One way you can do this is by allowing yourself to enjoy the present.

It's counterproductive to go through this life allowing things from the past to occupy your mind.  When you're constantly focused on the past, every present moment slips by and also becomes the past.  Then you're left to wonder about what happened in that moment, and the next moment, and so on…and all of these moments slip by that you weren't able to optimize because of where your focus was.  We are to forget the past things and press FORWARD.

Alternatively, it's also possible to sit and daydream about the future constantly.  The Bible says that no one knows the day or hour of Jesus' return except for the Father.  Just as true is the fact that you don't know significant things that the Father has planned for your future – so you just have to give it to Him.

Beautiful, where in your life are you too focused on the past or on the future?  Stop, and allow yourself to experience the gift of the present–your beautiful life!  Realize that all you have is the present.  You no longer can affect the past, and your future is in God's hands, not yours.  Do you see the beauty in your now?  The comfort in the quietness of your morning devotions in His presence?  All you have been given is opportunity for happiness NOW.  Allow that to flow!
