Horror in Highland Park

Another mass shooting in America mars Independence Day celebrations in Highland Park, Illinois. The suspected gunman was taken into custody last night after allegedly using a “high-powered rifle” similar to an AR-15, which he bought legally, to kill at least 7 people and injure dozens more. Senior Illinois Senator Dick Durbin joins to discuss a community in shock, and whether the bipartisan bill on gun reform is enough to prevent mass shootings.

The January 6 Committee’s next hearing will focus on connections between the Trump White House and organizations that attended the January 6 rally in Washington, including white nationalist groups. Plus, the grand jury probing Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia subpoenas some of the former president’s key allies including Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman.
