Picture being an unknown actor in New York City and then a chance encounter between your mother and casting agent results in you being selected for a role on the biggest television show in the history of Nielsen ratings. A move which catapults you from being an anonymous member of a theater group to someone who can no longer go to the grocery store without being mobbed.

When Geoffrey Owens, actor, director, producer, was cast on The Cosby Show at age 24, it seemed to the the world that he would live the rest of his life in the luxurious celebrity style that we all knew and coveted.

But what if one day, after the fame and money ran low, you had to take a day job, one that would help pay the bills and allow you to continue to pursue the craft you really loved: Theater. Would you bag groceries at Trader Joes, and risk being job shamed?
