The NAACP Image Awards were this weekend, and the stars were out, and surprises were in store. Keke Palmer took home the Entertainer of the Year award. She beat out some heavy weights such as Kendrick Lamar, Shannon Sharpe, Kevin Hart, and Cynthia Erivo. Palmer did not think she was going to win but delivered a powerful speech. Porsha Williams’ estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Guobadia is being held in a Georgia Detention Center and could be deported back to Nigeria. Grammy award winning gospel artist Jonathan McReynolds joins the Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast. Rickey Smiley congratulated McReynolds on his Grammy win for Best Gospel Performance song this year.
