In every Hip-Hop market there are always names who remain as the core to the people. These are the people who speak for the people and with the people, and stay true to the essence from which they represent. This week we have a Hip-Hop artist from the Roxbury part of Boston who embodies just that notion: none other than Stizzy Leftlane!!! This is somebody who we've been trying to snag a sit down with for over a year and we finally had the opportunity to put it into fruition!
Stizzy Leftlane has been a a steady name within the Boston music scene for over the past 10 years and shows no signs of slowing down. With a voice which most hip-hoppers in the area are familiar with and raw imagery and lyrics, this Roxbury native has become one of the main names when it comes to Boston rap. Dropping an assortment of projects over the years and even teaming up with neighborhood heroes to create a collective, you can never say Stizzy isn't working! What does happen with certain artists in growing Rap markets is that they may be over-looked by others and kind of fall as a strong secondary; which is one of the topics we discussed on this week's episode! Please join Charlie MaSheen & KASH as they welcome Stizzy Leftlane to the pod over a discussion of the rapper's music, why he may be over-looked by some, "faking it til you make it", what's next for him, AND SO MUCH MORE!!! We also wrap up with another classic #RedCupsAndRap freestyle!!!
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT STIZZY LEFTLANE's LATEST BODY OF WORK: "Pain to Rap" OUT NOW ON ALL DSPs!!!
